Share!

If you’re looking for easy bee crafts that are simple, low-prep, and so much fun for little hands, this paper bee craft is perfect! These cute little bees are perfect for spring crafts, insect crafts, bee activities, or even a letter B lesson. They also make an adorable activity for World Bee Day or anytime you’re learning about honey bees.

This fun bee craft is designed with young children in mind, but it’s also a hit with older kids—truly one of those bee craft ideas that works for kids of all ages!

Why We Love This Little Bee Craft

This is a great way to combine creativity with learning. Kids get fine motor practice as they tear and crumple tissue paper, use a glue stick, and place pieces on the bee’s body. It’s a fun way to build fine motor skills while encouraging child’s creativity—and the end result is a set of adorable bee crafts you’ll want to hang everywhere.

Plus, these cute bee crafts are an easy way to introduce conversations about honey bees, nature, and pollinators.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Black paper (for the bee’s body and antenna)
  • Yellow paper (for the head)
  • White construction paper (for wings)
  • Yellow tissue paper (torn or crumpled)
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue stick and scissors
  • Marker (optional, for a smile)

Step By Step Instructions

First, cut a simple oval from black paper for the bee’s body and thin strips or curves for the antenna. Alternatively, you could glue on pipe cleaners at the end for antenna. It’s really just about using whatever is easiest for you.

Next, cut a circle from yellow paper for the head. Then, cut two wing shapes from the white paper. For younger children, you can do these steps ahead of time or help them with the scissors. But using scissors is a great way for them to build fine motor skills, so we try to encourage it.

Next, glue the head, wings, and antenna together to form your little bee craft.

Then, let little kids and younger children crumple small pieces of yellow tissue paper—this part is much fun! Glue the crumpled tissue paper onto the body to create bright bee stripes.

Lastly, add googly eyes and draw a smile if you want—my grandson also wanted to draw a nose.

Learning Through Play

This perfect way to explore spring crafts and bee activities supports hand strength, coordination, and creativity. It’s especially great for toddlers and preschoolers still developing control in their fingers. Even older kids enjoy personalizing their honey bee with different wing shapes or expressions.

Whether you’re planning bumble bee art, insect crafts, or simple bee crafts for a classroom, homeschool, or rainy-day activity, this is one of those easy bee crafts you’ll come back to again and again.
